New Jersey probe nets 7 arrests on drug, weapons charges

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, New Jersey - New Jersey police said they have arrested seven people in connection with a month-long investigation that led to an array of drug and weapons charges.

New Jersey police said they recovered both crack and powdered cocaine along with five handguns.

At around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, New Jersey police with a search warrant entered a home in the 3700 block of Lehigh Court. Officers arrested residents Robert Conroy, 33, and Barbara Brown, 28, and charged them with the possession and the intent to distribute CDS, possession of firearms and the possession of defaced firearms.

New Jersey police also said they charged another man, Pleasantville resident Gary Pitts, 25, with possession of a defaced firearm by a convicted felon and conspiracy to distribute CDS.

Also held on drug charges were Egg Harbor Township residents Stephen Dellarciprete, 22, and John Ireland, 26, Somers Point man John Mulholland, 24, and an unnamed 16-year-old, police said.

On Tuesday evening, two were still being held in Atlantic County jail. Brown was being held on $10,000 and Pitts $100,000 bail.

Assisting in the investigation, which was led by Hamilton Township Police Detective Robert Bernhardt, were other members of the department and the FBI South Jersey Violent Incident Gang Task Force. New Jersey State Police Assisted in the execution of the search warrant.
